believes the power of the written word can be a vehicle for change within one's self, throughout the world and most often, both. A writer and poet since the age of 8, Danielle is committed to encouraging other writers find their voice as she continues to find her own. She is currently working on a young adult novel and writes a weekly health column for the Suburban Trends newspaper in NJ, for which her daughter provides continual inspiration.
Poetry can be found in the most unlikely places. As writers, our job is to peel away the layers of life and discover our own version of the exceptional.
While working under the tutelage of poet Timothy Liu, I learned the following two things about the writing process. CUT CUT CUT and BORROW COPY STEAL.
The first soft kiss upon a child’s sweet head;
Lips roughly pulled aside
to make way for the newborn.
