The
lines sometimes seemed blurred when you talk about your writing process and
how you would make a pot of tea or sit in a window as someone is reading a poem
of yours about a poet who makes a pot of tea or sits in a window. The natural
inclination would be to assume that you are the "I" in the poem.
I
am in a way, but my persona is a very enviable character because all he does
is make tea and sit in a window. He does little else. He doesn't have a job.
He doesn't have a family. He is a man of infinite leisure. The things that he
is most interested in are his own speculations and observations. I, on the other
hand, have to take out the garbage and go to work and thing like that. I wish
I were him.
